Standing in AWE...

Did you read how the Lord led us to our newest son that we are naming Titus Charles I*** Ucherek? Check it out HERE

It's a story many years in the making...
A story with MANY twists and turns...
A beautiful story of a boy who needs a home...
A boy that was rejected by many...
A boy in need of medical care...
A boy in need of love...
A boy in need of a FAMILY...
And most of all, a little boy in need of a Savior!

We honestly CAN.NOT.BELIEVE that we get the OPPORTUNITY to share with him who Jesus is. It's such a HUGE responsibility that we are HUMBLED the Lord would allow us.

Oh how I WISH I could show you his sweet face... post the new VIDEOS we just got of him...
He's perfect...
He has rolls from head to toe...
His eyes are captivating...
His curls look like a comb-over...
And his cheeks... oh I want to smooch them!

We came home today after a VERY long day... an exhausting day... one of those days that you just want to curl up in your sweatpants and blanket and pass out as you fall into bed. I decided to check our email REALLY quickly to make sure there wasn't anything urgent when I found an email that brought us both to tears.

You see, our sweet boy was found on a waiting children's list. What this means is that we were not searching for a child... we were not even in the adoption process... the Lord had made it clear a few months ago that it was not time yet... He had been stirring in our hearts... but we were waiting, patiently. This sweet boy popped up on our computer screen and within a couple days, we knew he was ours. I*** has several medical needs... they are things that we are confident we can care for.... things that we've even found doctors here in Guatemala that can help with... things that will take TIME... but the Lord is equipping us to handle them and showing us how investing in a life is SO SO worth it!

What this also means is that our agency is moving QUICKLY... one of I***'s needs has to do with his head and once his skull closes at 12 months it will be a harder and longer process to correct, if it even can be corrected. He is already an estimated 7 months old, so we have little time to try to get this care. In other words, we also have little time to get him home... which also means there's a BIG financial hurdle standing in our way.

Let's face it...
we're missionaries...
we own little...
we don't make much money...
don't get me wrong, the Lord provides for our needs, but there is absolutely no way for us to have the funds to pay for an adoption on our own.

However, HE keeps reminding us of the RANSOM our Lord paid by sending His ONE and ONLY Son to die on the cross for our sins!

If our loving Father would do that for His Son... how could we not pursue our son with EVERYTHING we have... regardless of the cost. We are TRUSTING Him to provide.... we are TRUSTING the body of Christ to come around us... and help us pay the RANSOM to bring our son home. I remember hearing the Lifesong Vice-President speak at a conference one time and he said something along the lines of, "If you came home to your child being held ransom... and the kidnapper said that you had to pay thousands of dollars... to what extremes would you go in order to get him back"... well, that is EXACTLY how we feel about our child. Is he in danger... no! But, we will do whatever we have to do to bring him home... to his FAMILY!

where he belongs...
where God intends children to grow up...

SO, back to the AMAZING email we received.... Lifesong has GRACIOUSLY agreed to provide us with a $3,000 matching grant to bring our sweet boy home. What this means is that EVERY DOLLAR donated towards our adoption up to $3,000 will be MATCHED... dollar for dollar!

While the overall costs are still being determined, we know that the next step is a $9,000 fee due in THREE weeks from today... BREATHE Christi, breathe! WHEW....

Please sweet friends... PRAY our son home... SHARE this with as many people as possible... and if the Lord leads... help bring our sweet boy home... where he belongs!

Donations can also be made via check. Please make checks payable to Lifesong for Orphans and include 'Ucherek Adoption #3411' in the memo of the check and mail to: 202 N. Ford St, Gridley, IL 61744.

*All donations are being administered by Lifesong for Orphans. It's VERY important that you know, and we note, that this is completely separate from our missionary account. 100% of all donations will go towards our adoption expenses and all donations are tax-deductible.
