Meeting Little A/Ethiopia (Part 2)

We've been trying so hard to come up with the words to express our thoughts, emotions, and what the Lord did through our trip... and our words don't do it justice!

We can sum up the trip in this way: God is at work! He truly sets the lonely in families. It's not easy.... it's typically messy.... but His ways are so much higher than ours. We are truly so in love with this sweet boy and we can't wait to get him home. WE LOVE ETHIOPIA!!! TRULY! The people of Ethiopia are beautiful... so loving, so courteous, and so warm. The caregivers at Hannah's Hope at AMAZING. It truly gives us a lot of peace knowing that little A is being taken care of!

Please continue to pray for this sweet boy, for a quick return trip, and for our health and safety during these upcoming weeks. We'll keep you posted as we hear about embassy dates!

Here's some more photos for you to enjoy!

PS - My hubby just might be working up a new song in the living room right now! :) Can't wait to share it with you!
can't wait to hold this sweet boy and for all of you to meet him!

DAY TWO -

sorry that some of these are blurry... forgot that we had little fingers on the lens the prior day and didn't clean it! :) this momma loves me some little sticky fingers! :)

how do you like that scaffolding (Troyer - thought you'd like that)!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the clothing, diaper, formula, and beads donations!!!

Little A being fed!!! Love that little pink seat.

Beautiful artwork by local artists!

DAY THREE -
What did you do on your commute this morning?

look at those sweet little legs!!!!

LOVE seeing that crib empty!

So humbling to see how hard these people worked ALL DAY LONG. They were working right across the way from Hannah's Hope.... working so hard when we got there in the morning and still working that hard when we left for the day.

This sweet boy playing with his daddy... oh, melt my heart!
That's all for now!

As we are in our comfortable home tonight, a sweet friend reminded us of the importance of praying for Ethiopia! I just can't wrap my head around the lives of some of the people we came in contact with... what they worry about each day, the burden they carry with them.... we must continue to pray!

Up next: traditional Ethiopian dinner... be prepared for some crazy dancing! Fellow first trip AGCIers - we have so much footage of your crazy dancing! haha!

  4. Love these Christi! You'll treasure these photos for forever as the first time you saw your little man. Your first family picture...no matter how good or poor quality. Won't matter. It will forever be etched on your heart of what an amazing moment that was. Doesn't your heart just change completely when you see them? When you saw Dan with him didn't it just change something inside you for forever? You think you can't love your spouse anymore, and suddenly are mistaken....when you see them with your child, it's taken to a whole new level. Love that we are so blessed with amazing hubbies! Love you guys and praying for a quick embassy date!
